Last Hurrah of 6th Grade

It was the usual hustle and bustle on the last day of school at St. John.  First we had our last school mass of the year and then the students went back to their classrooms to tie up loose ends.  I helped set up for the spring carnival and came back just after lunch to claim Mason and his friend, Michael.

I asked Mason to take a goodbye picture with his math teacher, Mrs. Agler, who is moving on to Memorial High School. We will miss her but maybe we will get to see her again.  Evansville is such a small world.

Mrs. Hochmeister was Mason’s homeroom and Language Arts teacher.  She was very supportive of Mason and they clicked.  Although you can’t tell from the smirk on his face, I would venture to say that Mason was fond of her. She recognized his sense of humor and appreciated his contributions in class.

Captured from Mason’s phone, this is what happened in the classroom as the students are waiting to be signed out.

Our last day of school tradition is frozen yogurt at Orange Leaf and a big cup of coffee for me.  Although Walker’s last day of school is not until tomorrow, we let him participate as well.  I can’t believe summer is upon us!
