There is always knitting in my bag, by the sofa, in the kitchen and in my car.  It grows and grows and sometimes it becomes sweaters.  I saw a friend make this tunic for her daughter and I loved it.  I commented that I wished it were available in my size.  Lo and behold, the pattern was. I bought it right away and started obsessing about it.  One day shortly afterwards, I found myself in Tuesday Morning and I laid my hands on this yarn.  It was exactly the right weight, the right yardage and the color I wanted.  I snapped it up and will proudly declare for all bargain shoppers everywhere that I got it for a scream. It was lucky timing.

I had a few false starts on this one and right up to the very end, I was not sure if it was going to fit properly.  It’s got a lot of negative ease in the upper torso which means that it stretches to accommodate my body.  I had hoped for something roomier but alas, it is what it is.  I am trusting all those people who have said it looks just fine.

My pictures are compliments of the lovely Kim who traipsed with me to the VBY—that’s Mason-talk for Very Back Yard.  It’s his stomping ground.  She and I braved the mosquitos; they won.

I leave you with one of the outtakes—me holding Barbie’s decapitated head.  Gosh, that poor woman needs a shampoo.
